Rates
"If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys". James Goldsmith Let's talk money. In an ideal world, this would never be an issue. All you would care about is quality and credentials, right? Not so! All of us are painfully aware of the fact that the economy isn't doing so well at the moment. Everybody is watching the bottom line. However, you also must have noticed that you often get what you're paying for. In that respect, the translation and voice-over business is no different than any other business. When negotiating a contract, your client will probably use 3 buzz-words: 1. Quality Sounds familiar? You know it's almost impossible to reconcile these three elements, without compromising at least one. Quality work doesn't come cheap. A rush job isn't necessarily first-rate. So, let me ask you this: is it reasonable to expect a gourmet meal from a fast food restaurant? Your work and your standards are ultimately a reflection of your business. It's the same for me. Quality translations and quality voice-over work will give you credibility and will create customer confidence. In these days, that's a precious commodity! MY RATES I generally determine my translation rates based on averages as compiled by www.translatorscafe.com. My voice-over rates are in line with what most professional U.S. non-Union talent would charge. Thanks to a weakened dollar, my rates are extremely competitive, especially for European clients. Why not email me the details of your project (paulstrikwerda@rcn.com) and I will get back to you with a quote and a custom demo! I accept payments through: | |||||||
