Hi everyone. This is a training document for a refinery. I'm having trouble with the word "arrêt" in this context. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thank you.
At the edge of the town is an old Methodist cemetery where several magickal "leys" cross. That made that area a power sink: any magick made there was stronger.
Non riesco proprio a capire il senso di "leys" e power sink. Grazie mille a tutti :-)
Puisque l'arrêt est prévu, il doit s'agir de maintenance.

Sì, il mio Chambers definisce ley come 'any of the straight lines between features of the landscape, possibly pathways, or perhaps having scientific or magical significance in prehistoric times.'
Shutdown may not necessarily be for maintenance, or inspection, at least not from this context. Since we don't know the reason for the shutdown, I'd leave it as "Shutdown".
I have just come across a photo which shows a man filling shelves, and underneath it, it says "Reposicao", so it seems Isabel is right... That is definitely one of the tasks the company in question performs...
