Concordo con cd x. Si riferisce all'installazione di uno specchietto supplementare per angolo morto, che ne consente la visibilità, non all'angolo stesso.

si, scusate, non sono stata molto chiara nelle spiegazioni e non ho riportato la quote dal link che ho trovato dopo che Eleonora ha fornito altro contesto.

E' proprio così, si tratta di uno specchietto aggiuntivo (adesivo)che permette la visibilità anche nel cosiddetto "punto morto".

Nel mondo dei motori lo specchietto si chiama dell'angolo morto o dell'angolo cieco. E' una specie di specchio convesso che ti fa vedere li dove non arriva lo specchietto normale:
