头眠二眠三眠

I have found this term and it is related to the grubs of silkworms. Litteraly it means "First/Second/Third Sleep" but I was wondering if I can translate it with mutation (you know silkworms change their skin). I don0t know if it makes sense.

During the period when the silkworm won't eat or move around(or play around, just like in the mood of asleep), call this biological status: "头眠，二眠，三眠", I think not even temporal chinese people will know it.

蚕不食不动的状态，即用“头眠，二眠，三眠”来称呼。或者裉皮的时期。
