Abstandsverlauf

[Edit] [Delete]

Context

This term is part of a test catalog for headlight sensors. It appears in several places of the text.

course of travel, progressive range of beam

Example

And also here: Graham's example.
As with the use of the German word Verlauf, the English uses the term progressive to denote the relative travel of a fixed beam length as it travels in a forward direction. Headlights always converge to a focal point somewhere in the distance. The total distance is the distance between the focal point convergence and the headlight. This distance remains the same as the car travels in a straight line. The translation would be: Objektidentifizierung im Abstandsverlauf = Object identification relative to beam distance OR object identification within the travel of the beam.
