Japanese to English. I am approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as a translator of
academic and professional qualification certificates.
translation
New Zealand translation agencies for which I frequently undertake assignments include the New Zealand Translation Centre (based in Wellington), MLT Translation Centre Ltd (based in Christchurch), and Blue South Ltd (based in Wanaka). Although the bulk of my work is still done for agencies, I also have an expanding number of private clients.
I have translated material in a wide variety of fields,including:
documents required for immigration purposes;
phamaceutical chemistry; medical; corporate and financial;
automotive; civil engineering;
legal (including statutory instruments of various kinds, and documentary
evidence required for presentation in court); military.
In addition to translation, I also work as an editor of English to Japanese translations.
I teach Japanese to English translation at Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology (CPIT), to
first-, second- and third-year students of CPIT’s Bachelor of Japanese programme.
I am a Member of the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters; I serve on the Society's
National Council and am also President of its Canterbury Branch; also member of editorial team
responsible for the Society’s journal “Word For Word”).
I would be happy to provide further information should you be
