SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE AS REGULAR TRANSLATOR

Since starting my career in September 2001, I have worked as regular translator with an Arabic diplomatic mission and a news agency in India, as well as a press organisation in Sultanate of Oman. My profile with these organizations included translation, editing, supervision of translation desks, doing research work and preparing detailed reports on topics covering politics, economy, diplomacy, international relations, defence and military, besides social issues.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE AS FREELANCE TRANSLATOR

I have been freelancing for over nine years, rather since my college days. Since I took to freelancing, I have worked in several roles all centred around language including working as translator, editor, course developer, researcher, cross-cultural and language resources consultant.

Born and brought up in culturally-rich and linguistically-diversified country, India, I count both Urdu and Hindi as my native languages.

Having studied Arabic language and literature at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, presently I am pursuing Ph.D. in Arabic language and literature. I have also attended Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in Arab<>English translation.

Having worked as researcher, translator and interpreter in an Arab diplomatic mission based in India, besides as head of translation desk in a leading press organization in Sultanate of Oman, I have rich experience in Eng<>Arabic, too, and have successfully edited several translations produced by native Arabs.
