Accomplishments and Interests

Cultural. From 1997 to 2002 I was a member of the Commission for Culture and Education of the municipality of Levate. I was editor of the town periodical “Levate Insieme,” and I was managing editor from 1999 to 2001. In 2004 I was elected town councilor in Levate and I was appointed by the Mayor “Consigliere delegato per i Beni e le Attività Culturali” (delegate advisor for cultural assets and activities).

Theater. After attending a two-year acting school with “Gruppo Teatro Fragile” in Treviolo (Bergamo), I became a member of the group in 2000. Teatro Fragile became an affiliate of FITA (Italian Federation of Amateur Theatres) in 2003, and I am now their promoter and advisor. I performed in several plays, some for children and some for adults.

Cinema. I am keenly interested in cinematographic techniques, the language of film, and the use of cinema as an educational tool. In 2001, I conducted a course on the language of cinema, entitled “Cinema: language, discourse, analysis”. In 2002, I co-founded “Metropolis”, an association headquartered in Bergamo that deals with promoting the culture of cinema. In May 2003, in Calcinate (Bergamo), I led an analytical discussion of the film “Jimmy Grimble,” as part of a convention on “Sports, why? Elements for an inquiry into the motivation to play sports.”
