RATES

Rates depend on a number of factors. Some of these that I take into account when setting prices are:

· Level of specialisation (for example the degree of expertise required for translating and the degree of terms that may need to be researched). The end user and the use of the documents will also be taken into consideration.

· Size, deadline, urgency and continuity of project(s).

· It is also reasonable that urgency has its cost. If the clients set a very tight but practicable deadline, they will be and rightly so subject to an additional cost.

· File format and document layout issues.

· Apart from the translation, an assignment often comes with a lot of formatting requirements. If this work can be minimised it can have an impact on the time spent on a job.
