2006- Present:
I work as a freelance interpreter and translator doing institutional as well as technical and specialised translation from English into Greek and vice versa.
Present:
I work as an English tutor in a private college. I also provide private tuition to Greek and English students. I teach English, Greek and French.
2004- 2006:
I worked as a Teaching Assistant in Hertfordshire schools including Loreto College, the Abbey C. E Primary School, Oakwood Primary School and others, where I helped pupils with their English in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, and helped teachers with administration.
Personal statement:
I am a highly motivated and determined individual with leadership and team work abilities. I am a very competent linguist, with an enthusiasm and aptitude for learning foreign languages.
Having studied for a MA in Bilingual Translation, I have done interpreting, editing, institutional as well as technical and specialised translation (e.g. medical) from English into Greek and vice versa.
The combination of Literature and Translation studies has equipped me with the skills for close reading and detailed textual analysis, and the ability to translate and edit texts to a high standard.
I am a native Greek speaker with a near-native command of English and fluency in French. I also speak Spanish and I am currently studying Italian.
