I offer my clients accuracy and clarity that comes from careful research of the subject area and terminology.   I write fluently in a range of styles, paying attention to context and register.   I have never missed a deadline. 

I  worked for many years in UK local government, managing housing and local capital works programmes, moving on to manage housing development schemes.  My  translation work reflects this practical experience of real estate, project management, construction, contracts, government and policy.  I worked closely with social services, environmental health, planning and other departments. 

I have a good degree in sociology and  did post-graduate research in education and historical geography.

Recent translation work includes:

• Commercial and residential property reports, tender and contract documents: this is still my major specialist area of work;
• IT systems support services agreements between major multinational companies;
• Employment policy documents;
• Collaboration contract between a multinational company and a university;
• Engineering consultancy tender (strategic financial planning for the water supply and sanitation sector);
• Framework Agreement – for recruitment services from agencies;
• Personnel information sheet re French data protection law;
  Product launch brochure for corporate partners, plus my advice on product naming;
• EU, international relations, climate change;
• EU, international relations, economics;
• I am a member of the Solidarités group doing pro bono work for overseas aid and development agencies. 

I can also offer OCR processing of pdf and scanned documents into editable format.  Rates shown are for reference purposes and subject to negotiation for specific projects.
