A graduate from Oxford University in English Language and Literature specialising in translation methods and language structure, I have spent the last two years as an in-house senior translator for a translation agency in Rennes, France. During this time I translated texts ranging from Renault tractor descriptions to art descriptions for the Chateau of Chantilly and everything in between; I am now registered freelance.

Having lived in France for more than 8 years, I have an excellent understanding not only of the language, but also of the cultural subtext, and this, combined with my written English skills, honed during my studies at Oxford, makes it possible for me to provide translations of a very high quality. As an in-house senior translator, I also carried out a large amount of proof-reading and text standardisation, especially as regards punctuation, spelling, choice of vocabulary and GB/US English differences. I therefore pay very close attention to the requirements of different agencies and clients regarding these issues, and aim to reduce agency proofing time as far as possible.
