Advertising, Broadcast Journalism, Education, Ethnic and Cultural Studies, Film and Cinema Studies, Food Sciences, General, Hospitality, Humanities and Humanistic Studies, Internet, Journalism and Mass Communication, Political Science, Radio and Television Broadcasting, Science (General), Tourism and Travel, Women Studies July 2007 I received my degree in Translation, a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages at Universidad Central de Venezuela, obtaining the 5th place among 35 graduates.
In 2006 I finished an apprenticeship at CAIBCO (Centro de Análisis de Imágenes Biomédicas Computarizadas), an institution belonging to the Faculty of Medicine at UCV. In CAIBCO I translated more than 50 abstracts and summaries of articles published in their online magazine "Vitae" (http://caibco.ucv.ve), the target language was English. CAIBCO is a Venezuelan project with the aim to spread scientific knowledge being developed within our borders, utilizing Internet and other related digital tools.
During 2006 I also started working for a Venezuelan subtitling company called Rosetta Translat. Most of my job within this pioneering company has been to translate educational programs.
Between 2004 and 2005 worked as an apprentice at the daily Venezuelan newspaper "El Nacional." Two translated articles were published during this time: "Tienen tu numero" and "Turismo en Napa Valley". The first about the dangers involved in the usage of tools such as blue tooth in mobile phones and the second about the wonders of this marvellous wine American region in the state of California. Other issues to be translated were varied: politics, science, travelling, and entertainment.
1997-2004 enrolled as an English teacher teaching various types of client. I have taught business English courses, private lessons, young learners and adults. Some of the companies I have worked for are: Inlingua Venezuela, Loscher Ebbinhaus Caracas, CVA del Centro (Centro Venezolano Americano), Empire Languages (small company offering courses "in company" and translation services), and Unidad de Extensión UCV (language courses offered to the public in the university campus).
Since year 2004 I have been working as a freelance invigilator for IELTS and Cambridge examinations held at the British Council in Caracas. 1995 obtained the First Certificate in English (FCE) awarded by Cambridge University.
1996-2006 Translation of different types of short documents and mostly academic research papers.

- At the moment I prefer to use GNU Open Source Software. My favourite wordprocessor is the one provided by Openoffice.org, which allows me to save documents in diferent kinds of formats.
I also use Omega T, a powerful translation memory tool.
