Currently I work as a full-time translator and my daily output is 1500-2000 words. Besides translating I have also fair experience in consecutive interpreting, including work in solicitors office as well as in the Crown aand Magistrate Court.
I have started my adventure with translation almost four years ago and never stopped enjoying it. At the time I decided to write my Master Thesis in English, what required me to do a lot of translating both from Polish into English and from English into Polish. After a while I discovered that it is not only challenging but also rewarding and interesting activity.
In May 2004 I finally defended master thesis "Informational duties of an entrepreneur selling by means of an interactive webpage towards consumer" comparing Polish and EU regulation of this subject, which gained the highest mark.
Afterwards I moved to London, where for over a year I was studying English and recently passed Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency, and Cambridge Business English Certificate Higher.
Aiming to gain officially recognized qualifications in translation, in September 2005 I undertook Introduction to Translation course at the University of Westminster, and in January 2006 I've started Diploma in Translation course at the same university I am also preparing for the Diploma in Translation exam of the Institute of Linguists.
English:
- Certificate in special study (translation) from University of Westminster
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency,
- Cambridge Business English Certificate Higher
- 1998-1999 – yearly full-time course at language college: Akademia Słowa in Poznan
So far my practice included translation of:

- articles of association,
- contracts,
- regulations,
- bylaws,
- appraisals,
- business texts,
- certificates,
- general texts
- scientific and semi-scientific texts
- EU documents
- manuals
- webpages (mostly HTML files), as well as
- preparation of official correspondence and documents
for members of Polish community end Polish entrepreneurs in London.
Stays abroad
Between 1997 and 2003 I have been five times to the USA, spending there altogether almost two years, and being in more than 20 states, what gave me a good insight into both culture and language.
Since May 2004 I've been living in London, traveling widely around the UK and polishing my language and translation skills at the beginning at the LITE College, and later at the University of Westminster.
