• Translation was done in real time -it demands full command of MS Word, BNA Intranet and excellent research skills on Internet. The main subjects covered in Mining and Metals are finances, stock market, geology and metallurgy. I was also responsible of proofreading my own translations and publishing them on BNA’s Internet. My secondary assignments were compiling specialized terminology for my news sector and editing translations from other news sectors (Water & Waste, Oil & Gas).

Part-time EN>SP freelance translator, 1998 – 2000

• Journalistic translation for El Vocero de Puerto Rico. (www.vocero.com)
• Subjects: Business, Finance, Sports.
• I worked from Chile as a member of a 6-persons team. I was responsible of the translation of highly specialized financial texts for the press department of El Vocero de Puerto Rico. Translation was done in tight deadlines –the translated texts were received as .TIFF files and sent back as .RTF files by FTP software. Also, I performed as assistant coordinator of the translation team.
