Born and raised in the UK and now resident in Canada, I have been in business as a full-time freelance translator and copywriter since 1996. Over the years, I’ve chosen to specialize increasingly in translating marketing material and corporate communications, where English copywriting skills are at least as important as a thorough understanding of the source language.

Here in Canada, I am a Certified Translator from Norwegian and Swedish to English. I’m a member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) and the American Translators Association (ATA).

I hold a postgraduate diploma in translation from the University of Surrey, England. At undergraduate level, I studied German and Scandinavian languages at Aberdeen and Edinburgh universities. Before qualifying as a translator, I worked in political research.
