The morning session will focus on equity markets with an in-depth discussion of prospectus and bond terminology. This session will be interactive. Be ready with your own ideas and opinions and any translation conundrums in French, Portuguese and Spanish. The afternoon session will present a practical experience on the translation and interpreting related to financial and banking terminology used in civil and criminal cases both in the circuit and federal courts. Refreshments will be served during break/networking time and surprise door prizes will be raffled among the participants. The presenters Marian Greenfield Marian is the owner of msgreenfield Translations and formerly Manager of Translation Services at JP Morgan. She is also the president-elect of the American Translators Association. She translated in New York’s Financial District for 20 years and is now a full-time translation industry consultant and freelancer translating financial and legal documents from Spanish, Portuguese and French into English. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Translation at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and an Adjunct Instructor of Translation at the University of Chicago and in 2002 was a visiting Professor of Translation in the Master’s in Translation Program at the University of Puerto Rico. Richard Perez Richard is a translator and interpreter who has been working at Seven Languages Translating Services, Miami, since 1994. He has an extensive experience as a consecutive interpreter for legal and court proceedings, commercial and business negotiations. He is a U.S. Federal Court Certified Interpreter since 1998.
