► NK's RATING & NOTES:  A nice little app which I use constantly during my working day, one of those I can't live without. It adds a small toolbar to your Windows Taskbar:

 After that you can search with Google from any application directly from your Taskbar and see the results in a small built-in mini-viewer from which if you need you can with one click move to your default browser:

There you can customize your searches and add the search engines of your choice and other custom searches for your favorite web sites. I for one has added Yandex engine and Multitran En>Ru>En dictionary. Extremely convenient.

To the greatest disappointment of many users the Deskbar is no longer available from Google as a standalone program. Instead, they've integrated it into Google Desktop which doesn't have the same slick action and comes with too much extra stuff not everybody necessarily wants. Luckily I do know where you can still find the installation file of the the Deskbar:
