Comrade Jacek, are you suggesting that you spent your time in 70s Poland listening to Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, MJ and James Brown on Krakow FM?
You omitted, yes, Leonard Cohen whom Nikita and I used to listen to on Voice of America... BTW, he is singing in Venice this coming Monday and I will miss him again...

RE: What kind of music do you enjoy?
I saw Leonard Cohen in concert, in a small club, the weirdest thing is that I do not remember whether it was a student club in Poland in the late 80's or a club in New York. I must have been still in Poland, although I absolutely do not remember. I only remember him; that he was really great, and his songs, an unforgettable experience otherwise. As for the music of communist Poland, I was usually listening to Smokie in elementary school and high school. They were very popular, and of course, all the Heavy Metal Bands, whose music I did not appreciate that much at that time, and of course ABBA, all girls listened to ABBA. There was the Depeche Mode, Talking Heads, Spyro Gyra and all the other groups, quite popular, and of course, Vladimir Vysockiy.

Le Trio Joubran, a Palestinian group of three brothers, who play the 'oud' with a magnificent beauty and, most of all - FEELING. I hope you'll enjoy them.........
This song is based on Berry's life. It tells the tale of a boy with humble beginnings with a talent for guitar. Some details were changed: Berry was from St. Louis, not Louisiana, and he knew how to read and write very well. He graduated from beauty school with a degree in hairdressing and cosmetology.
Berry got the word "Goode" from the street where he grew up, Goode Street in St. Louis. The line, "That little country boy could play" was originally, "That little colored boy can play." Berry knew he had to change it if he wanted the song played on the radio.
In 1977, NASA sent a copy of this on the Voyager space probe as part of a package that was meant to represent the best in American culture. Someday, aliens could find it and discover Chuck Berry...
Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode
In this video I especially like his go-go girls in the two upper clear boxes...
