Speaking of shows, live animals are harmlessly used in stage productions of Aida, for example, and in many movies that have the disclaimer "No Animals Were Harmed in the Making of this Film." No deadly miracles there. Why not learning from them?
You did not answer my question.
As for disclaimers... Well the "disclaimer" the LGGD gets about the kind of Christmas entertainments goes like this: "Prove the animals suffer!" Not to mention the fact that the "No Animals Were Harmed..." is usually the human point of view.

What kind of god might like this and is it the God you believe in?
One of may favorite ones: The Feathered Serpent?
Quetzalcoatl as depicted in the Codex Magliabechiano
He was known as the inventor of books and the calendar, the giver of maize (corn) to mankind, and sometimes as a symbol of death and resurrection. Quetzalcoatl was also the patron of the priests and the title of the Aztec high priest.
The worship of Quetzalcoatl sometimes included animal sacrifices.

Animals usually do not act in sick acts like that for Christmas: a small gig with a donkey won't hurt anyone, he might even like it, to be a fifteen minutes entertainer.
