that there are only 12 months in a year.

So, if you suggest
that today is the 11th day of the 24th month 2008,
you're seriously out of touch with time, as we know it.

Or is there a special lunar calender
in the country where you are situated?

We are inclined to do things a little backwards, and not just with dates.  So... the 24^th day of the 11^th month would work and keep us within the reality of time. As for other realities, well....
