Real artists, free-spirited, hardly ever work for somebody, even in such democratic countries as US: they probably want too say too much even for the ears of democracy.

Maxi Schwarz-Bastami | RE: Freedom of speech, under attack in the West (Canada and France ) I was serious and responding to what you wrote. Writers and painters don't wear costumes. In the context of what you wrote about saying unpopular things in metaphor, this hardly applies. Unless, of course, you want to state that the "emperor has no clothes" by putting on a play with an emperor having no clothes - skimpy indeed!

How do they earn their daily bread? If you paint, somebody has to buy your painting. If you write a book, it has to be published, marketed, and purchased in large numbers. If you perform as a musician or actor, or if you write plays or music or a movie script, you need an audience, advertisement, a place to perform, and often a sponsor to get that all going. The avenues to this can be cut off.

Others who do not want to express the views of their bosses work as waiters or advertisement designers, which has nothing to do with their art.

the truth wears a costume, |
A disguise. The truth wears a disguise.
Esoteric terms such as truth, awareness, consciousness etc. are difficult to define, so unless we agree on the definition of each one, we probably won't get very far.

It depends on the medium.
In person, we have facial expressions, hand movements, intonation and body language to aid comprehension whereas her on TC it's important to explain using reasonably concise written language where you want to go, how you plan to get there and why
