Project advert on Facebook but company name not found on the Internet

I am a new member in the whole translation world I find an advertisement on face book

seeking translator for a project . I sent my c.v ,they sent me a test and I passed . Then I knew that it is a one - year project  working at home and taking salary at the end of each month according to the number of papers that I will translate every day . They will send me 5 papers every day  and I will translate them  at home and at the end of the month they will give me the salary . I asked them for a purchase order and they said that they can give me experience certificate if I work with them for 6 moths. I felt that something goes wrong especially after I  had searched  the internet and I did not  find the company's name .

kindly tell me what to do ? .

Accept working on this project or not and how can I guarantee that they will pay me my salary at the end of the month

Thanks in advance

Dear Silvia,

The problem with telling people what to do, even when they specifically ask, is that most people have a clear idea what they really want to do and what they want is to have their own ideas confirmed.

So, what do you want to do?

Trust your intuition, which seems to be working very well, or ...?

Good luck,

Nanna

How about asking them for a formal contract/purchase order which will specify all terms of the project, including their physical address?

You cannot guarantee anything.  The best you can do is hope that history will repeat itself as a guide to what the future holds.  In this case its THEIR history and if they don't have any and won't reveal any evidence of ever paying anyone else, that's quite possibly a pretty good guide of what their future would hold for you.

Dear Silvia,

Nowhere in the freelancing world, not even on Facebook I know nothing about, will anyone commit themselves to a one-year relationship with a contractor, guaranteeing such contractor a steady flow of work (5 papers every day) and a prompt payment of salary at the end of the month. I remember something like that from communism, but I doubt your prospective employer operates out of North Korea or similar places. If so, beware, because the Internet is not reliable there.

In addition to your own doubts, has it occurred to you that despite having passed their test

(a) You may fail to meet their translation standards sooner or later as a result of which they may refuse to pay you?

(b) Despite having lined up the 5 papers for every day of the year for you they may be hit by an unpredictable crisis or other problems whereby 5 may dwindle down to 1 and then 0 at which point you will see no "salary" coming your way?

My 2 groshy

I have founded their physical address yesterday .The project coordinator told me -through emails - that they can give me an experience certificate after 6 months

Thanks Nana for your answer . May be you are right , but what about trying ? I will try to translate their documents this month - I founded  their physical address- if they won't give me my money , it would be a real experience and could be a refrence to my work .
