"...I wish that Palestinians and Arabs , would they be Christians, Muslims, Jews, atheists and agnostics, or whatsoever, can be aware of the mess to become, if another war breaks out in the area. Let me put it more clearly, if the western powers move on with their threats, Israel will win another gift, we will burry more victims ( Muslims and arabs) and Jews will put their future at stake, the UN wil have no more credit, and all the muslim opinion will be against the Gulf decision makers because of their pro- Israeli barely hidden position."
|
What do you mean by the highlighted words there? I assume 'credit' in the phrase could be 'power' or 'authority'. So, if we say that UN (maybe sooner or later has no more credit) and Israel will control the world, how would they (Israel) do that alone? The Veto power is in UN whereby USA, UK, China, Russia, France and we must remember that Israel is not one of the United Nations Security Council.

RE: A Palestinian Point of View
1- The Un have no credit, ie they cannot be trusted, they work for the powerful interests.
2- Israel can have any resolution voted for , when it suits its interests, via its freinds and allies, actually it is also ruling the world. It refuses to abide by Un resolutions condemning its occupation , have you heard some day that the UN forces have forced Israel to accept its resolutions, or that NAto has taken any measur to stop Israeli agressions against Arabs?

Peacefuly,

Hi Gabriella,
What do you think of the title of this thread then? Everyone has rights to state opinion as far as the opinion is not beyond the limitation of certain (TC) terms and conditions. And the title of this thread "A Palestinian Point of View" consists of different angels, dimensions, perspectives and so on. So, what do you expect of translating such a 'dull' document without learning and gaining experiences of others? Being as a translator, open minded and learn something new is the essence of providing a good translation.
Thank you,

Welcome to the fora, Gabriella.
I see that you have been a member since 2004, but, so far, you have only written three posts.
We welcome everyone. Opinions, as long as they are stated respectfully, thoughtfully and within the TC forum rules, are also welcome. We have a very robust discussion culture here on TranslatorsCafé.
Why, do you feel that political views should be kept off this website?

Because here we are a group of professionals exchanging ideas, arguing terminology, adapting, modulating, trying to delve deeply into linguistics, finding solutions, helping each other. Professional progress, if you will. There are plenty of political fora elsewhere.
Years ago I, too, voiced an opinion only to have it removed immediately. It was a minuscule nuance compared to the present thread. But at that time, I understood and accepted the "verdict".

That's true, indeed. However, we discuss just about anything between the heavens and the earth, so please join us over in the Off Topic Chit Chat forum where the climate is very temperate , open and friendly. See you there!

Yes, I have located that old post and it involved naming an outsourcer and asking for opinions regarding working with that outsourcer. For legal reasons such posts are removed from the open fora. You may post such inquiries only in the Hall of Fame and Shame.
