TRANSLATION
All throughout my career (see below), I have been called upon to translate promotion literature, technical manuals, specifications, engineering standards, quotations, contracts and various other business documents. Since 1996, I have translated many other similar documents for my numerous contacts in the industrial goods world as a freelance translator.
There are many styles of translations. For my part, I believe that the reader of a translated text should not even be aware that it is translated. The way I translate, I first read and make sure that I understand fully what the author is trying to convey, and I then write in the target language as if it was the first time.
I use MS Word or other MS Office programs, and I submit my work by e-mail. However, I can receive documents in many other formats such as pdf, jpeg, fax etc. I do not generally rely on CAT tools, which are not yet capable of producing quality translations.
Since I retired in October 2004, I have translated or edited:
From English to French:
From French to English:
From Spanish to English:
- consignment contract, engineering & legal, 6 pages
From Spanish to French:
- Agricultural Engineer’s diploma
