I'm a native Albanian freelance translator, living in Italy since 1997.
I have achieved a BA degree in Foreign Languages (English) at the University of Tirana, Albania.
I have also completed a MA degree in Psychology (mark 110/110 cum laude) at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.
I have an advanced level certificate in Spanish obtained at the "Jupiter" Linguistic Centre authorized by the Albanian Ministry of Education. I am actually carrying out my PhD studies in Cognitive Psychology, therefore I am highly specialised in translation areas concerning research in social sciences, medical area and all psychology-related disciplines.
Types of translation projects carried out in the past:
- Creation of the Albanian version of WHO research tools (eng>alb): consisting of a complex iterative process of translation and backtranslation phases;
- Translation of medical and psychological literature; farmaceutical material (eng>alb; esp>alb; ita>alb);
- Translation of the European educational system guidelines (eng>alb);
- Translation of university curricula and programs (ita>alb);
- Legal documents; CV-s, diplomas, certificates (ita>alb>ita);
- Energy, Oil and Gas engineering, auctions, laws, contracts (alb>ita);
- Website localization (eng>alb);
- Interpretation services: official interpreter of SKY TG24 (SKY TV); collaborations with the Italian Embassy in Tirana (ita>alb>ita).
I have taught Psychology in English at the University of New York of Tirana. I distinguish myself for a strong attention to details and deadlines. Translation quality and issues such as reliability, ethics and cultural relativity are my main professional concerns. My strengths are an excellent knowledge of more languages and cultures, perfect linguistic abilities as well as a rich working experience in different contexts. I use CAT tools such as Trados, SDLX, Wordfast as well as other softwares such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Dragon Naturally Speaking. CV will be submitted upon request  | |
