Responsible for the translation of technical manuals, quick installation guides, product bulletins, packaging, and press releases. Proofreading of Italian versions provided by freelancers. As part of the Translation department I also handled project management tasks when outsourcing translation requests to agencies and freelancers, providing localization toolkits, and technical support to freelancers using Trados SDL CAT software.

Education and training:

2000-2003   High School for Interpreters and Translators (ISIT), Milan.

   Main subjects studied: translation and interpretation from Italian into English and Dutch, and from foreign languages into Italian. Third language studied, Spanish. BA in language mediation. Script title: “The Israel-Arab conflict and the failure of   the Washington-Oslo  agreements”.

2008-2010 ICoN (Italian culture on the Net), University of Pisa, Genoa, and Bari

   Master's Degree in Scientific Translation in Law, Bio-medicine, Environment and Energy, and Localization.

Translation accounts at this moment for 100% of my total income.

I have been working on legal documents mainly from Dutch and English into Italian, and from Italian into Spanish.

I have also worked on a large project (80,000 words) for the Dutch TV series "All Stars". I have translated the script from Dutch

into Italian.

I have worked on texts about Chemistry, Environmental Science, Oil and gas Engineering, Physics, Climatology, and Biomedicine.

Operating Systems: Office 2000 XP (word, excel, power point, office, internet explorer, outlook), 1 hard disk, printer, ADSL connection, CD-DVD recorder.

Security Tools: Firewall, Antivirus, Antispy.

Translation CAT tools: Wordfast 5. TRADOS 7.5, Multi term, (advanced knowledge of Trados SDL 7.5 and TeamWorks).

2006   Iuventus award

   Award assigned by the NGTV (Nederlands Genootschap voor tolkers en  vertalers, Dutch Association for Interpreters and Translators) as young a translator.

I have worked as a volunteer for 2003 and 2004 editions of the Milano Film Festival as interpreter (IT> EN) for the English speaking audience, and as translator (EN>IT subtitles) for “Atash” (Thirst) a feature film by Tawfik Abu Wael.
