Work Experience

After self-studying Pashto, Urdu and English languages for many years, I joined weekly Roshan Pakistan, Urdu, Karachi, as translator, and later as editor, columnist, and feature writer, in 2002. My duty was to translate items from Pashto and English into Urdu and vice versa. Besides, I wrote a regular column and translated books, including Ahmad Rashid’s ‘Taliban, Oil, Islam and the New Great Game in Central Asia,’ for this newspaper.

I have translated other books and numerous articles from English and Urdu into Pashto and vice versa, including a research study on Guantanamo by Berkeley University, California, the United States. I have worked on many translation projects for organizations based in the U.S., the U.K., Canada and Pakistan.

Hundreds of my articles, stories and translations have been published in newspapers, magazines in Pashto, Urdu and English languages around the world, including daily Wahdat, Khabroona, and monthly Leekwal, Peshawar; daily Express, and weekly Roshan Pakistan, Karachi; bimonthly Jirga, London; and on the websites like www.tolafghan.com, www.benawa.com, www.groundreport.com, www.instablogs.com, etc.

In addition, I have edited more than 50 Pashto books of different authors and have written prefaces to some. It is because I am very good in both scripts and the two major dialects of the Pashto language, and know about the differences between them, that are currently used in Afghanistan and the Pashto speaking areas of Pakistan.

As a journalist, based on my experience with the media organizations mentioned above, I have ample knowledge about the ethics of working with media, such as the responsibilities of an editor and the ethics of reporting. Reliability, quickness, and impartiality are essential for reporting a news story which must discuss all the aspects of the event, contain confirmation from an authority on the matter, and answer all the questions so a reader\listener fully understands the situation.

Politics, current affairs, terrorism, insurgency, literature, arts, internet, world religions and world issues are the topics I often write on. Computer Skills

I can type Pashto, Dari, English, and Urdu languages with excellent speed and can use some computer softwares, programs, and CAT tools, such as Trados, OmegaT, Dotproject, MS word, Excel, CorelDraw, PowerPoint, SPSS (a data analyzing program) etc. Besides this, I am very good in internet search, administering a website, and in the use of internet programs and weblogs and making PowerPoint presentations.

I have written and translated many books two of which have been published in 2007 and 2008 respectively. They are:

1) Pakhto Pa Internet Ke, a book that provides information about Pashto websites, forums and email.
2) Tanda Mey Mata Shwa, a collection of short stories.

د ژباړې او سيمييزونې خدمتونه

"د حېران د ژباړې او سيمييزونې مرکز"، چې نوى په کابل کې جوړ شوى، د مسلکي او تجربه لرونکو ژباړونکو پر مټ، پښتو ژبې ته د ژباړې د معياري خدمت په نظر کې نيولو سره، هېوادوالو او مسلکي ادارو ته د ژباړې، سيمييزونې، سمونې، او پروف کتنې په برخو کې خدمتونه وړاندې کوي.

• هغه څه چې مونږ يې د کار او معيار له پلوه په نظر کې نيسو:

زمونږ لومړنى پام معيار ته دى. د دې دوه اړخونه دي: لومړى دا چې ژباړه د ژباړې د منل شويو مسلکي اصولو سره برابر او د ژباړې متن اصلي متن ته په مانا او ماحول کې نژدې وي. دويم دا چې هيڅ ډول ټايپي، د املاء او انشاء، او ليکنښو (punctuation) تېروتنې ونلري. او دويم پام مو دې ته دى چې راکړل شوى کار په ټاکلي وخت وسپارل شي.

• هغه خدمتونه چې مونږ يې لرو، تفصيل يې په لاندې ډول دى:

(١) ژباړه (Translation)

د ژباړې نړيوال معيار دا دى چې ژباړونکى بايد په دواړو ژبو د بشپړې پوهې تر څنګ د دغو ژبو د ويونکو د کولتوري ارزښتونو او قدرونو څخه هم ښه خبر وي څو اړوند اصطلاحات او د هغوى په شا پرتې ماناوې په زيات نه زيات دقت سره له يوې څخه بلې ژبې ته واړول شي. خو ژباړونکى بايد په دې هم ښه پوه وي چې ژباړه يواځې د يوې نه بلې ژبې ته د تورو اړول نه، بلکې د اصلي متن فکر او مانا ته نوې ژبه ورکول دي. دا ځکه چې هر ليک د ژبې خپل معيار لري: د بېلګې په ډول، په دې مانا متن خيال او مانا ته نوې ژبه ورکول دياندې د هغوى غبرګون دى. څېړنيز ليک د اکاديميک معيار وي؛ ادبي ليک هنري ښکلاوې لري؛ په داستانونو کې د کليوالو کرکټرونو ژبه کليواله وي؛ په ورځپاڼو کې د خبرونو ژبه ساده او د کالمونو تر هغې يو څه ګرانه وي، او داسې نور. په ژباړه کې هم بايد د اصلي متن دغه قدرونه په نظر کې وساتل شي. برسېره پر دې، بايد د ژباړن په وس کې وي چې په لومړنۍ ژبه کې کوم ځايونه، شيان، يا خلک اشنا او په دوهمه کې ناشنا وي نو چې حاشيه ورسره وليکي. او مونږ په خپل کار کې د دې ټولو معيارونو ژمنه کوو.

(٢) سيمييزونه (Localization)

سيمييزونه په نړۍ کې د تخنيکونو د اسانولو، په انټرنېټي پروګرامونو د هرې ژبې د ويونکو د پوهولو، او خپل جوړ کړي شيان خلکو ته د هغوى په ژبه کې د رسولو يوه نوې لړۍ ده چې په دې وروستيو کې يې د نړيوالتوب (Globalization) سره لاس په لاس يون پېل کړى دى. مونږ په دې برخه کې هم ټول مسلکي او تخنيکي ارزښتونه په پام کې نيسو او داسې ژباړه کوو چې د سيمييزونې په موخه (د تخنيکونو اسانول)  وي. او داو کې زيات نه زياته لاس ته راوړنه ولرو. په سيمييزونه کې تر ټولو مهم کار د ناشنا تورو لپاره داسې پښتو توري موندل دي چې د اصلي توري مفهوم ترې راوځي او لوستونکو لپاره د پوهېدو وړ وي.

چټکه او معياري ژباړه او سيمييزونه د ژباړې د کمپيوټري پروګرامونو (Computer Assisting Translation Tools) له کارولو پرته ناشونې ده. دغه پروګرامونه توري، فقرې، او اصطلاحات په خپله حافظه (memory) کې خوندي ساتي او هر کله چې دغه تورى، فقره، يا اصطلاح په دويم ځل راځي نو په خپله ژباړل کېږي. په دې توګه کار ژر ترسره کېږي، او د يو توري، فقرې، يا اصطلاح دوه يا زياتې جلا جلا ماناوې نه راځي. مونږ د لومړي ځل لپاره په پښتو کې د ژباړې لاندې کمپيوټري پروګرامونه د کارولو لپاره چمتو کړي څو خپل شعار "کار، معيار، او رفتار" په عمل کې وښايو. هغه پروګرامونه دا دي:Trados, Wordfast, OmegaT

(٣) سمون او پروف کتنه (Editing and proofreading)

په سمون او پروف کتنه کې هم د پښتو ژبې د ښه معيار ژمنه کوو.

(٤) غږ

د لاندې ليست د ژبو څخه په هره ژبه کې په ښځينه، نارينه، او د ماشو م په غږ کې د ثبتولو خدمت د ثبتولو د ټولو معيارونو سره سم ترلاسه کولى شئ.
