Hello,
I started my translator career in the end of 2006, I am however not “new” with languages…
I have worked 20yrs + as a tour guide with Europe as working field and translated into and from several language combinations for a living.
I am native with three languages: Swedish, Norwegian and Spanish (Swedish father, Norwegian mother and spanish/catalan husband).
I speak and write English fluently, and master Catalan and German on a very good level. My childhood I spent in Sweden and Norway, School in Sweden and after school, I started to work as a Tour and Travel-guide all over Europe, mainly Spain, Germany, Austria, Norway, England.
I moved to Spain in 1988 and stayed there until 2000, working within the travel- and Hotel- industry as well as in the nautical field (boat yard). Since 2000 we (husband and 2 boys) live in Gothenburg, Sweden.
I have done translation projects in several different areas; User manuals for companies such as SIEMENS, SONY, SAMSUNG, NIKON, LG, PHILIPS, ROWA (automated storage and dispensing systems in pharmacies), BAYER, OSPOL, C.R BARD, LG and HARLEY DAVIDSON.COM, GAGGENAU among others Translation of websites, such as HERBALIFE.COM, NOKIA.COM, TIMARCO.SE, TERMINAL A, UNIBET.COM
I have experience of user agreements and keyword research projects for companies such as LG, NOKIA and GOLDEN MOMENTS, EUKANUBA PETFOOD.
I work with Windows XP, Office Pro 2003, Acrobat Adobe Professional 8.1, Acrobat Frame Maker 8.0. As translation tool I work primarilly with the new Trados 2009 Studio aswell as TRADOS 2007 Suite with MultiTerm, I have also worked with SDLX. In software translation I have experience of the localisations program poEdit. I have of course Internet broadband connection as well as a wireless connection when travelling, External storage devices, cell phone, MSN and SKYPE.
