Responsibilities: Daily coverage of the Iranian press, including: direct quotes packages; editorial translations; article translations; article summaries; and running summaries of newspapers. Tight hourly deadlines. 24/7 online communication with operational centres in the UK, India and Iran for maintenance of output. Flexible programming and urgent adhoc products as requested.

BBC Persian Service,  TVT Translation and Versioning Services - London - UK

TVT is responsible for preparing BBC documentary films for the BBC Persian Service, broadcasting since January 2009. This involves translation of transcription and subtitling of the documentary films.

Responsibilities: Translating the transcription of films from English to Persian, in the required time coded formats. Editing and subtitling videos for documentaries and replacing English text by Persian translations. Reading voice-over text on films in dubbing studios.

IranVNC and Washington TV  - Washington DC – USA

IranVNC, which has transformed into Washington TV, is a bilingual internet TV channel broadcasting from Washington. The website broadcasts news from the Middle East region with special focus on Iran. It is updated continuously.

Responsibilities: Translating news articles from English to Persian on a daily basis. The turnaround of articles has been 2 hours, with the volume of translations sometimes reaching 4,000 words in 5-hour cycles.  

Keypoint Technologies UK

A well known mobile software developer based in Scotland and creator of Adaptxt predictive text software. The company develops software in many languages, including the Persian language, to type messages on different type of mobile phones.

Responsibilities: Consultation on Persian language issues in developing Adaptxt predictive text software for mobile phones. Checking dictionaries, commenting on language issues, extracting text and testing mobile emulator software.

Roozonline internet  newspaper

Roozonline is an internet newspaper established five years ago by prominent Iranian journalists. The newspaper is published daily, five days a week, and its webs site is updated on a daily basis. Besides Persian articles and interviews written by Iranian journalists and writers, inside and outside Iran, the newspaper publishes reports in English.

United States Central Command – USA

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has a multilingual web site covering the news on American troops in the Middle East. The news reports are published daily in Russian, English, Arabic as well as in Persian.

Mawtani news website is sponsored by the US Central Command, in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution No. 1723.
