Gracias, Elena. De todos modos, ya lo conocía, pero le puede ser útil a otra persona. Un saludo.

RE: Mentoring new translators (2)
Hi, my name is Elena and I have recently joined your community and wonder if somebody could help me with amending my CV. I have been translating ever since I entered university in St. Petersburg both professionally and as favours. Now I am considering a career track of developing into a professional translator and just need somebody to guide me through this process. After having read all useful tips given by professionals to novice translators I have joined UN Volunteering program as a Russian translator and now trying to send out my CV to different translation agencies, but am sure that if a professional looks at it he/she will find that something is wrong/ insufficient. Would really appreciate if somebody could give me some tips! The uploaded CV file is a full version. Thank you and looking forward to somebody's reply!

RE: Mentoring new translators (2)

Hello,

I'm also a new translator and recently I found myself in the same situation. In this page or other similar, you can have a look at the résumé of the members. What I did is to print various so as to have an idea of the structure. Like this, you'll start with a basis and feel more secure so as to build your own résumé. You have to take into account that a translator's résumé has a lot of specificities as it has to include CAT tools or language pairs. I do also recommend you to show you résumé to somebody else to get some feedback.

Good luck,

Guillaume Leleu

Thanks for your reply, Guillaum. That's a good way to start, I think. Good luck!
