TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE

 

I have eight years experience of translation and have translated documents and websites for many large public and private sector actors, including: The European Parliament, The French Interior Ministry, The Government of Tunisia, Lovable, Microsoft, Quiksilver and SEPA.

 

Given my academic background, I am a specialist in legal and social sciences translation; however I have wide experience translating in other areas. A non-exhaustitative list is contained below;

 

Arts and literature: architecture, art history, book reviews, interviews, journalism, music reviews. 

Business: Credit Crunch analysis, general literature, HR localisation (Microsoft) marketing, and recruitment.

Education: BAC, degree, post-graduate, doctoral certificates and transcripts

Fashion: lingerie and general fashion catalogues, POS literature. 

Law: contractual, insurance (health, personal injury, vehicle), leasehold, tenders, environmental (polluter pays), birth/marriage/divorce certificates.

WRITING AND EDITING EXPERIENCE

 

I have had over 50 feature articles, columns and reviews published and syndicated widely across the online and print media. I have written both on subjects emanating from my academic research and other areas of general interest including music, politics and sport. I have also worked around Europe as a journalist on a freelance basis for seven years.

 

I have experience in editing and commissioning articles and features for magazines, both as a contributory editor and English editor in chief - completing a Convention de Stage in Paris in the latter in summer 2008.

 

RATES

 

My translation rates vary depending on the turnaround required the area of expertise and whether I am working on a one off freelance or regular basis with the client.

 

My contractual rate starts at 0.05 Euro/source word, my standard freelance rate varies between 0.06 and 0.09 Euro/source word depending on the requirements of the client. Other currencies are quoted at the equivalent rate.
